TORONTO: Nearly 150,000 people attended the two-day South Asian festival in Gerrard India Bazaar here which concluded Sunday with non-stop performances by various bands. Bollywood music and desi aromas filled the air, as crowds came out in large numbers to savour Indian delicacies and culture in the oldest and biggest Indian bazaar in North America. No less crowded were Indian jewellery and cloth shops as big discounts were on offer for the two-day festival called the TD Festival of South Asia after the sponsoring bank TD Trust.
Academy Award contenders include Delhi Safari in the animation category.
